Kentucky is an east south centeral regional state of unite d states of America. Like Pennsylvania and Virginia, Kentucky is also constituted as common wealth. This state is also known as state of “bluegrass” because of the high fertility of soil. Kentucky is also known for its blue grass music, horse racing and automobiles. However some central parts of Kentucky are known for poverty, because people there do not have the basic necessities of life even clean water!
1. Origin
It is said that the name “Kentucky” was actually the name of a Native American tribe who used to live in this region in 1000 BC. There profession was hunting and this word also means hunting of buffalos.
2. History
First it was also a part of Virginia but in 1795 it was separated from Virginia and given the status of separate state of America. In the same year it was joined in union i.e. commonwealth.
3. Geography
Kentucky is the 36h largest sate of united state of America by area and 26th largest state by population.
4. World’s longest cave system
Kentucky has the world’s longest cave system. It also has the crossable water course and streams along with two largest manmade lakes at the east side.
5. Religion
Like other states of US the religion of Kentucky is also Christianity. But almost half of the people are not affiliated to any church.

The first college and library were opened in this area which now comprises on Kentucky state of America.
7. Horse riding
As Kentucky is known for its horse riding, it is best in it. This is proved by the fact that every year, in horse riding competition, not even a single time a horse other than Kentucky’s has secured the top positions.

Food of this state is also known for its taste and hygiene specially its cupcakes and chocolates are famous. Every year, in all over the Kentucky, 100 days of food are celebrated. It is also known for its fried chicken.
9. Music
Kentucky music is highly applauded all over the world. Bluegrass music of Kentucky is world famous. Bill Moreno is known as father of bluegrass music.
10. Born place of celebrities
Kentucky is the born place of Abraham Lincoln, president of union, president of confederacy. The first Miss America was also crowned in this state in 1999.
