Henry ford was an American industrialist, who was born in 1863. He was the founder of Ford Motor Company. His approach brought a revolution in the transportation industry of United States. He was one of the richest and famous people of the world. He died in 1947. Here are some facts about his life.
1. Early life
He was born on a farm in Greenfield town, near Michigan. His father was from Ireland, while his mother was from Michigan. He worked with different companies as machine operator. He was use to operate steam engines.
2. Family
Ford got married in 1888, with a lady Clara Ala Bryant. Edsel Ford was his only son. At that time, he was use to support his family by farming and running sawmill.
3. Career
He joined Edison Illuminating Company as an engineers and later got promotion as chief engineer. During this time period, he paid attention to his personal experiments, which he was doing on gasoline engines. He was introduced with Thomas Edison and worked for him.
4. Ford Quadricycle
In 1896 he completed his experiments and manufactured a self propelled vehicle, which he named as Ford Quadricycle. Test drive of the vehicle was taken in June.
5. Ford motor company
In 1903 he founded his own company named Ford Motor Company. The initial capital invested was 28,000 dollars.
