It is nation’s 18th most populous state in Midwest containing population of 5,988,927 approx. it contains one Independent city and 114 other cities. The Jefferson city is capital of Missouri. It is defined as Missouri Territory because it was acquired from France and part of it was declared 24th state on August 10, 1821.

In 1811 United States was hit by a powerful earthquake which have centre in New Madrid, a city of Missouri. It was so severe that it was felt 1,000 miles away and more than one million square mile was shook by this quake.

Garment District alley stand containing “Father of Kansas City BBQ” is famous for selling his smoked meats. It is mostly reason of fame of Kansas City. Henry Perry was the beginner of this barbeque cuisine in 1908. He owns a old railroad car and he was running a full time operation of his popular tasty food at 18th & Vine.

On January 11, 1822, the design of the Missouri state seal was approved. It was designed by Judge Robert William Wells. The seal was made up of special meaning numerous symbols. Courage and strength was shown by two bears. The 24 stars indicate that it was 24th in creation of states. Helmet resembles the power. The seal kept on Secretary of State’s office is used on important government papers.
