Math is the mother of all subjects. Math has been used from the ancient times in the form of basic math to have measurements and record keeping etc. one of the feature or application of mathematics is multiplication. Multiplication is not simply the cross of two or three digits but it varies from most basic or simplest to most complicated use. There are some facts waiting for you in below lines.
1. Multiplication and addition
Multiplication produces answer in one step or may be in few steps. In fact multiplication has given us the ease of getting results easily rather than doing lengthy addition. So, to multiply four with three will give answer in one step while adding four three times will give the same result but after greater mental work.
2. Multiplication by one
Multiplication by one will always result in the same digit. It is because 1 is the universal singular digit which when multiplied with any digit gives the same digit as answer.
3. Multiplication by zero
Zero is also a digit it should not be considered nothing. Whenever a digit or any variable is multiplied by zero, the answer will always be zero. It is because zero makes everything zero.
4. Multiplication with ten
The numbers which we work with daily are called base-ten digits. These digits have decimal points at the right end of the digit. When multiplied by tens, they end up with a zero at the right most side of the result.
5. Multiplication/division relationship
Multiplication has an inverse relationship with division. Division divided the digit further by the number of digit it is divided while multiplication grows the number by the digit it is multiplied with.
6. Multiplication/fraction
The multiplication has made it easy to solve even complicated and lengthy fractions. It is just that instead of dividing and then adding, multiply the numerators and denominators and get the result then divide it to reach to the final answer.
7. Multiplication and power
To solve power, we have multiplication. For example 3^4 means multiply 3 four times and get the answer. So even without calculator, we can solve the powers except the fraction powers.
8. Measurements by conversion
Multiplication has also made it easy to do the measurements without sophisticated tools simply by converting the complex units to smaller units by multiplying them with the appropriate unit numbers.
9. Equations
Equation is a mathematical statement which contains = sign in it. At both sides of the equation, if the digits are multiplied they can be divided to the opposite sides as well to simplify the equation.
10. In ancient times
Mathematical is been used since ages. Even in the construction of pyramids, complex multiplication is involved.
