When the number of a particular animal reduce remarkably, and its risk to disappear from the surface of earth increase we call it endangered. Many animal species are on the verge of extinction, but currently listed as endangered. Here we are discussing few facts about these endangered animals.

According to a research in 2011, there are nearly 1,140 animal species which are endangered. These species are found all over the world, but a larger number of these species resides in United States only.
2. Reason for Endangered Species
Hunting by human is the most common reason for most of the endangered species. However, natural disasters like floods and earth quacks are also a big cause of endangered animals.

Siberian tiger, Bengal tiger, African Elephant, Snow leopard, Grizzly bears, Jaguars, Rhinos, Green sea turtles, red wolves and Western gorillas are few examples of endangered animals.

This act legally protects endangered animals as it says that it is illegal to kill or harm a specie when it is endangered.

Many organizations are working for the protection of endangered species. However, creating a general awareness and protecting the natural habitat are the important steps to save endangered species.
