Anorexia or Anorexia Nervosa is a type of psychological and sometimes, physical disorder that is caused by bad eating habits. Mostly, the people who create fanatical fear upon themselves about gaining weight due to over-eating or even normal eating adopt the habit of very low eating. When their habit of taking poor diet becomes permanent, they get infected by an eating disorder called Anorexia Nervosa. Here are some facts about Anorexia Nervosa.
1. Mostly affected person
As women are more concerning about their weight gain, so usually women get infected by Anorexia Nervosa as compared to men.
2. Causes
In most cases, the reason behind being infected by Anorexia Nervosa is dieting or avoiding normal diet for a longer period. After sometimes, the body becomes habitual of such low eating and do not accept even daily required calories.
3. Symptoms
Depression, anxiety, hair loss, obsession about calories, dangerously underweight, rapid weight loss, amenorrhea, perception, purging, lack of confidence and avoiding friends as well as family members are the common symptoms.
4. Physiological Treatment
Normally, if a person affected by Anorexia Nervosa gets treated psychologically, there remains no need of medical treatment. In this regard, the first thing is eliminating the excssive fear of gaining weight in the concerned patient.
5. Medical Treatment
Figures show that about 15% people, affected by Anorexia Nervosa do not survive due to diagnosis at the last stage. However, even in case of severe conditions, proper and in-time medical treatment can save the life of Anorexia Nervosa patient.
